My beautiful wife Balbir and I have been married since 1977 and have two wonderful children. We have been residents of the lower mainland for our entire married life.

Being an active community volunteer I have served on:

• 2004 Member of the Premier’s Advisory Panel on Literacy
• 1997-2001 Commissioner, Surrey Parks Recreation & Cultural Commission
• 1998-2000 Member of the Surrey YMCA Steering Committee
• 1998-1999 Member of the Surrey Museum and Archives, Steering Committee
• 1990-1991 Member of the Surrey Memorial Hospital Board of Trustees
